Why an independent tester
If the company testing your floor also sells the cure, whose interest does the result serve? We test floors — and that’s all we do.
- We don’t sell flooring, coatings or cleaning, so we’ve nothing to push.
- Our advice can honestly be ‘your floor is fine’ — or ‘just change the mop’.
- The result reflects your floor, not a product we profit from.
- Independent, accredited evidence carries more weight if a claim is ever made.
| Independent tester (us) | A firm testing its own work | |
|---|---|---|
| Sells the remedy too | No | Often yes |
| Incentive to fail your floor | None | Possible |
| Whose result is it | Your floor’s | The product’s |
| Advice can be ‘do nothing’ | Yes | Rarely |
| Conflict of interest | None | Built in |
Independence isn’t a nicety here — it’s what makes the result trustworthy.
